“rupturing rapture” like those 2 words together. When I read this I only thought of my dads death. And how it took years of emotions bubbling and boiling to calm and the grieving to subside to just being in the background.
I am glad to hear this piece brought to heart an emotionally intense time in your life, allowing some space to reflect on your journey through that fire. You've come a long way, dear one 🔥 Bubbling and boiling! Maybe my next piece will showcase the element of water...
Rebecca, very poignant poem: your descriptions are deep with meaning and universal to the psyche. I like the photo of the rose on fire too symbolizing mental anguish as well as chemo treatment. It is difficult to be betrayed and you have expressed a wonderful healing. My greatest difficulty is in making boundaries. Again, your poetry is beautiful and gives me lots to think about. Thank you for sharing. Dianne
Thank you so much for your comment, Dianne! Many can indeed relate to the fiery blaze of mental anguish, chemo treatment, betrayal and boundary-making. None of these are easy experiences to navigate. It is my honor to create thought-provoking beauty through the written word.

Feelings aren't facts, but they sure do matter.
